About Career Development

The Career Development subject area consists of the Personal Orientation Project, Exploration of Vocational Training, and Entrepreneurship.

The Personal Orientation Project (POP) gives students the opportunity to dive deep into their interests and aptitudes and start seriously considering their career options. POP is self-directed with teachers there to help the students along their individual journey of discovery.

Careers in the trades are increasingly attractive in our age of technology and knowledge management which have enhanced traditional occupations and created new ones. Students in Exploration of Vocational Training (Explo) have an opportunity to do a self-assessment for a career in the trades, and discover which trades would be a good fit for them. In addition, they will visit technology training centres, learn about academic paths to the trades, and get some hands-on experience.

The Entrepreneurship program (EN) gives students a chance to design and implement a business project from A to Z, and learn whether their personal profile is suited to entrepreneurship.
